LICENSED INSTRUCTORS - Licensed instructors are registered with Wag It Games, have agreed to our code of ethics (Below).

    • Authorization to promote your Wag It Games classes and events on the Wag It Games Facebook discussion group.

CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR - Are licensed instructors who have completed the Wag It Games Instructor Enrichment seminar. (Online option returning in 2024.)

WAG IT GAMES CODE OF ETHICS

  • Always support the dog/owner relationship through activities that are a positive experience for both dog and owner."
  • Offer training based in positive reinforcement and abide by the LIMA strategy of using the least intrusive, minimally aversive training methods.
  • Always be kind, respectful, supportive and courteous.
  • Include and support dogs and handlers with physical challenges (whenever possible and safe to do so).
  • Operate using ethical business practices.
  • Work in a synergetic manner with fellow Wag it Games instructors.

INSTRUCTOR RESTRICTIONS
Wag It Games group classes will only be offered to dogs with good social skills with no more than minimal reactive issues. Reactive dogs, dogs with a known history of aggression, under warning or banned in any venue will not be accepted into any general group Wag It Games class. This does not restrict instructors from offering specialized classes or private training incorporating Wag It Games activities. Example: Reactive Dog Classes may be promoted as incorporate Wag It Games.
*Failure to abide by these requirements and restrictions will result in loss of license and all benefits.

  • Reactive is defined as having triggers that cause the dog to become overly aroused.
  • Aggression is defined as behavior interpreted to have intent to do harm.

*These Benefits, Requirements and restrictions may change. A minimum of 30 days notice will be given.
